When using a face mask, is not just a great opportunity for self-care, it is also lots of fun! There is something about face masks and their application that makes us feel special. Pampering our skin and taking some time out to just be, can be incredibly rewarding.

For today’s home skincare remedy we thought of returning that special feeling to you, by making our very own face mask. Now, fair warning we are not talking about a pretty cloth mask, this will be a little messy, but worth it!

The Face Mask

Our choice for face mask creation today was difficult. We were torn between the refreshing Banana and Avocado Renewing Face Mask and the Cucumber and Aloe Nourishing Face Mask. Therefore, in our next instalment, which will now be fortnightly, we will be making the Cucumber and Aloe Face Mask.

The Benefits of Banana on the Skin

Bananas are packed full of goodness and not just when you eat them. They can be utilised in many ways including as part of a face mask.

Full of potassium and natural oils, bananas are fantastic for helping nourish and moisturise the skin. They also work as anti-inflammatories, therefore reducing redness and irritation, soothing the skin and leaving it feeling refreshed.

Another fantastic reason to use bananas when making home skincare remedies, is that you can use every part. The banana peel does not need to be wasted. In fact you can apply the peels to skin. This can leave you with a natural glow! Remember to use organic and ripe bananas.

The Benefits of Avocado on the Skin

Avocados are also crammed with natural oils that help hydration. So, combining banana and avocado is a wonderful way to give your skin some much needed nourishment. The benefits of avocado include helping you fight the signs of aging and again soothing red, irritated skin.
