Winter can be tough for a number of reasons and for each person it will be different. Today we are taking a look at some of the ways you could embrace the winter months and make them most of them. This can help you feel better, lift your mood and give you a few reasons to love winter!
Wrap Up Warm & Go Outside
Sometimes the thought of leaving the house when it is freezing outside, is unconscionable. However, there is a lot to be said for putting your best step forward and stepping outside.
Plan a lovely winter walk with the family, or take the kids to the park. Wrap up in your biggest coats, hats, scarves, the works and brave the cold temperatures. Even if being outside doesn’t get you feeling brighter, getting home and snuggling up definitely will.
Hot Chocolate & Cuddles
Snuggling is certainly a wonderful way to embrace winter. After that bracing walk, or running in the park, coming home to snuggles and hot chocolate is wonderful. Hugs benefit our mental health tremendously anyway, but coupled with that hot chocolate can be amazing. The feel of your hands on the mug that is slightly too hot, seeing the steam rise from it and smelling that sweet aroma of chocolate is a definite home comfort.
Cosy Up With a Blanket
Another lovely way to really love these months when it is cold outside, is to grab your favourite blanket and cosy up. You could read a book, watch a movie together or even play games.
Take Up a New Hobby
Winter is the perfect time to think about starting a new hobby. We are indoors a lot more, the nights feel longer and daylight is fleeting. There are probably as many hobby ideas out there as there are stars in the sky. We have a few wonderfully wintery things you could try your hand at though, that would make beautiful presents for loved ones. Candle making, painting, flower arranging, cooking, brewing and many more besides.
Twinkling lights, brightly coloured baubles and chocolates hanging on the tree is one fantastic way to fill your heart with joy. Embracing the season to be jolly can be lots of fun when thinking about decorating. You could choose a new theme, handcraft decorations or even go all out and create a lovely Christmas scene on your windowsill.
These are just a few of the ideas that you could try. Do let us know if you decide to partake in any of them, we would love to hear all about it. You will be able to find all manner of festive ideas this year on The Wonderment throughout December. Don’t forget to join the conversation over on social media too.
