It’s not easy to look after your skin with the rise in the cost of living. Skin care can be an expensive business, but there are ways to look after your skin on a budget. Over the next five weeks we are going to take a look at five different budget skincare items that we purchased recently.
Clarifying Lemon Essence Mask from Beauugreen
Face masks are a wonderfully accessible part of the beauty industry, they can be picked up in many high street shops for as little as 50p.
This particular mask by Beauugreen was found in Poundstretcher and cost £1.50. On first glance it has a sleek and sophisticated look that lends itself to the higher end of the market. There is a lot of hype about Korean Beauty ranges at the moment, the look and price point explains this a little, but what are the products like?
The Benefits of Lemon
Lemon has many benefits for your skin not least of all it can help to prevent blemishes and blackheads, which is something many of us can suffer from. Lemon is also renowned for being great at fighting the signs of aging leaving skin clear and fresh.
What does Clarify mean when it comes to Skin Care?
If you think about what the word itself means, if you need to clarify something, then you want to make that information clearer. This is exactly what clarify refers to when we talk about skin care, to make the skin clearer and refreshed.
The Mask
The mask itself is easy to use, opening the sachet and removing the mask which is folded. It does contain a lot of liquid and I found that it was prone to dripping, so be careful to prepare for that before applying the mask There is no difficulty in placing the mask onto the face, it sticks easily with the excess liquid and moulds itself to the contours of the face with ease.
At first glance, there is a faint aroma of lemon, meaning the mask is not overpowering. Once on the mask is soothing and cooling, it feels refreshing. After a few minutes I found there was a hint of tingling and a slight itch from the mask, but I have extremely sensitive skin, this was minimal and in no way uncomfortable.
The instructions say to leave the mask on for 20 – 30 minutes, which I did, massaging the left over treatment into the skin. Straight after there was a sticky sensation, but this quickly subsided and I was left with skin that felt refreshed.
My skin certainly seemed a little clearer, but overall it was the refreshed, soothed sensation that the mask left me with that impressed me the most.
Was It Worth It?
I definitely think that the Clarifying Lemon Essence Mask was worth the £1.50. It gave me n experience that relaxed and soothed not just my skin, but also my mind.
