Knots are used for a multitude of reasons including on boats! But we use knots a lot throughout our lives and there are different knots for different jobs. For example, we use a Bow Knot for tying shoelaces, but to secure a hammock, you’d need a Clove Hitch. A Bowline Knot is used on boats, whereas you’d need a Slip Knot if you were camping. You can even turn knots into jewellery and decorations for the home.
